Rain and T'Storms Expected to Expand in Coverage After 8-9pm

Severe T'Storm Watch until 10pm for Otsego and Delaware counties for the potential for damaging wind gusts with any thunderstorms, otherwise rain and thunderstorms over western New York will move east into eastern New York and western New England between 8-9pm through midnight to 2am.  Locally heavy rain and brief gusty wind will be possible in any of the stronger rain/t'storm elements within a broader area of rainfall.  A general weakening mode with the rain is likely to develop after 9-10pm due to loss of daytime heating.

Amsterdam destruction, 3 months later

The Mohawk River in Amsterdam overflowed its banks when tropical storm Irene hit. Like so many communities, residents there found their homes and businesses in shambles.
Three months later, CBS6 returned to find a much different scene.
