Man in critical condition after shooting in Troy

UPDATE: Police have identified the victim of the shooting as Rahkeim Scarlett, 32, from Troy. He is still listed in critical condition at Albany Medical Center.

TROY-- Troy Police will investigate new leads Wednesday morning after a shooting on the corner of 8th and Jacob streets.

Police say a 31-year-old man was shot just before 6 p.m. Tuesday night and suffered gunshot wounds to his torso and arms.

The suspect is still on the loose.

The victim is at Albany Medical Center listed in critical condition.
Tuesday's shooting comes just hours after the funeral for the Lansingburgh couple who were found brutally beaten inside their First Avenue home.

Still no arrests in that case either.

Troy police tell CBS6 that the two incidents are unrelated, but say that the detective unit is overloaded with cases right now.
