Flash floods cause State of Emergency in Montgomery County

FONDA-- A state of emergency is in effect in Montgomery County after heavy rains cause flash flooding Thursday night.

A state of emergency is still in effect for the village of Fonda.

Also a boil water advisory is in effect for the village of Canajoharie.

The Department of Transportation tells us they've been out cleaning up the mess left behind from flood waters since 9pm Thursday night.

They tell us more crews will be coming on later Friday morning.

Some of the worst damage is on Route 5 in Fonda about 5 miles west of the fairgrounds.

About 3 feet of rocks at one point were swept across a persons property across route 5 and into a cornfield.
