Police arrest suspect accused of burglarizing Halfmoon home

HALFMOON -- State Police arrested a man they say burglarized a Halfmoon home on Thursday.

The crime was reported by the homeowners who had been running errands. Shortly after they reported the burglary, local police patrols spotted a suspicious vehicle parked nearby. When they questioned the two people inside, they say they determined it was the suspect they were looking for.

William Villano, 28, from Stoney Creek, was charged with second degree burglary. Michael Mooney, 63, from Albany was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument.

Officials say the stolen property was still in the vehicle and was recovered by police.
