Troy man charged with using counterfeit money at State fair

GEDDES - State Police have arrested a Troy man, accusing him of passing counterfeit money to vendors at the state fair.

Police arrested 34 year-old James Hines after being alerted by vendors that Hines allegedly used counterfeit $20, 17 in all.

Hines was charged with felony possession of a forged instrument and possession of synthetic cannabis.

Hines was arraigned in the Town of Geddes Court and sent to the Onondaga County Justice Center without bail.
