Ice bucket challenge raises millions as well as awareness

The ice bucket challenge may be cold, but it's heating up awareness of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.

The challenge involves dumping a bucket of ice water on your head, then challenging others to do the same.  Many have donated to ALS, even after taknig the challenge.  From Mark Zuckerburg to Bernie the Siena Mascot have taken the challenge.

The ALS association says that between July 29 and August 12, the Association and it's 38 chapters have raised over $4 Million in donations.

The disease, according to the ALS Association, is 100% fatal along with other issues as the disease progressively takes away the ability to eat, walk, eventually breathe.
