Investigators look into house explosion

UPDATE: Officials say National Grid is investigating another possible gas leak on Paige Street after receiving high meter readings. Authorities are moving onlookers back from the scene.

SCHENECTADY -- Investigators were back at 310 Paige Street Monday morning looking into a house explosion that shook the Hamilton Hill neighborhood in Schenectady.

Police and fire personnel continued to canvas the area after a vacant house blew up on Sunday afternoon.

The home is owned by the city of Schenectady's urban renewal program.

National Grid was on scene after the explosion. Neighbors say the company was also on scene the day before the explosion, but police are still looking into that information.

While neighbors also tell CBS6 they smelled natural gas for days before the explosion, the fire department has not announced an official cause.

So far no injuries have been reported.
