Man injured when car engine explodes

WEST LEBANON -- A man was airlifted to Albany Medical Center after the engine he was working on exploded on Sunday afternoon.
State Police said that 34-year-old Jose Santana from East Hartford, Connecticut, was working on the engine of a 1985 Mazda RX7 at Lebanon Valley Speedway.  He was in the parking lot, working on the engine while it was running, and the engine exploded for an unknown reason.
State Police said that Santana received severe injuries to his right arm and right eye, as well as burns on his upper extremities.
He was conscious and airlifted to Albany Medical Center by Life Net.
