Vermont eases relationship with health care vendor

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) -- Vermont's health care overhaul chief says it was a difficult decision to end the relationship with the company that designed the troubled website used to sign people up for health insurance.

Lawrence Miller made the comments Monday after the state announced it is ending its relationship with CGI, the company that developed the Vermont Health Connect website.

Miller said the website is still failing many people who are trying to manage their health insurance via the online marketplace. The state has hired the company Optum to continue work on the website.

In a statement, CGI said it was proud to play a role in helping 85 percent of eligible Vermonters enroll in health plans.

CGI will continue to host the website.
