Non-exclusive commitment offers revenue sharing in Albany

ALBANY - Mayor Sheehan says the offer of a million dollars a year from Capital View Casino and Resort will spur economic growth in Albany, saying that the agreement is non-exclusive agreement, meaning other proposals for city-to-city cooperation are not ruled out.

Her news release has the East Greenbush Supervisor saying the East Greenbush plan is by far the best for the capital region. Sheehan points out the casino siting is not the city's call.

Under this agreement, the developer would give the money to the non-profit group that works to improve Albany.

They're saying that's better than the Rensselaer plan, where the a million dollars a year would flow from the casino, to Rensselaer and then to Albany.

Wednesday night is the  first presentation of the East Greenbush proposal before the planning board.
