Nor'easter to Bring a Heavy to Major Snowfall Monday Night into Tuesday Night

A major Nor'easter is expected to develop south of New England Monday night, potentially getting stuck near Cape Cod into Tuesday before moving away Tuesday night.  This storm will bring heavy snow and gusty wind at times causing blowing and drifting snow, potential whiteout conditions at times leading to dangerous travel late Monday night through Tuesday.  Snow accumulations of 10" to 20" will be possible, especially in the Hudson valley and across western New England with amounts up to 10" in the Mohawk valley and western Catskills.

Halacy sentenced for rape charge

TROY -- The complicated legal case of John Halacy came to a close on Monday.

After two felony convictions, the most recent: Rape in the second degree, 24-year-old John Halacy was sentenced to four years behind bars followed by three years of supervision.

That sentence runs concurrent with time he's been serving for an attempted burglary in Colonie.

"It's over for him and I'm glad about that, it's over for his family, I'm glad about that, he can get on with his life, finish his time, and then move on from here," says Halacy's attorney, Arthur Frost.

Halacy's attorney tells CBS6 his client has already spent a year and half behind bars for the rape charge he pleaded guilty to back in May.

On Monday in court, Halacy publicly apologized, "I know what I did was wrong," says Halacy. "And I thank everyone who has supported me through this, especially my lawyer."

Halacy must pay $1,425 in fines and will need to register as a sex offender as soon as he's released from prison.
