Albany man sentenced to 10 years in bank robbery

ALBANY - A 45 year-old Albany man was sentenced to 10 years in prison after being found guilty of robbery.

Prosecutors say Don-Lee Grayson displayed what appeared to be a firearm and demanded money from a bank teller from the Key Bank on New Scotland Avenue in Albany after 9:00 on July 16.

Grayson then left the bank with an envelope containing currency and a dye pack, which exploded.  Grayson then attempted to trade in the money at a different bank and also attempted to pay his rent with the stained currency.

Police credit video surveillance footage from the banks leading to the capture of Grayson.
