Fonda Storm clean-up day on Saturday

FONDA - The Village of Fonda is wasting no time in cleaning up the area after flood waters Thursday left debris behind on Broadway and Main Streets.

The Village of Fonda Mayor has announced a clean up day asking residents on Broadway and Main Street to have all debris curbside by noon Saturday. 

Other streets will have debris removal on the regularly scheduled day.

Residents are asked to have vehicles removed between noon and 5:00 pm Saturday for street cleaning of Broadway, Main Street, Lower Prospect, and Cemetery Street.

The Mayor is asking travelers to avoid this area of the Village to make cleanup easier.

Volunteers are needed to aid with clean-up on Saturday.

If you are interested in helping, report to the Village of Fonda office building by 11:30 a.m. with work gloves and boots. Officials with the Village of Fonda will provide shovels and the needed tools.

The Village of Fonda and Town of Mohawk Fire Department will be washing down sidewalks and curbs throughout these areas along with sweeping the roadways.

The boil water advisory in the village is still in effect until further notice.

Montgomery County is still in a State of Emergency until further notice.
