Ellis nurse pleads guilty to hiding camera in bathroom

SCHENECTADY -- A nurse pleaded guilty on Friday after he was accused of using a surveillance camera to secretly record women using the restroom at Ellis hospital.

Paul Bourdeau was arrested after one of his victims spotted the camera. He pleaded guilty to two felony charges of unlawful surveillance. Bourdeau faces up to 3 years in prison when he is sentenced in October.

He allegedly made the recordings between October 13 and November 13 of 2013. Authorities say the recordings were not made in a public restroom, but rather, an employee-only bathroom.Ellis Medicine released a statement in response to the allegations, saying that all involved have been notified. They say they contacted the Schenectady Police Department as soon as they became aware of the allegations on November 13.
