Saratoga Springs man sentenced in drunk driving death

SARATOGA COUNTY -- A Saratoga springs man could spend the next 9 years in prison after he was sentenced on Friday for a deadly crash last year.

Paul Nicholson was driving his truck on Hamilton Street when he tried to make a right turn though an intersection, hitting Jamie Jo McBride in the process. She later died from her injuries at Albany Medical Center.

A blood test showed Nicholson's BAC at the time was .18 percent, more than twice the legal limit. He later admitted to driving drunk in court.

Along with prison time, Nicholson was also ordered to install an ignition interlock device in any vehicle he owns for several years following his release.
