Police: Ft. Edward man charged with burglary after being found inside home

WARREN COUNTY -- A Fort Edward man was arrested, charged with burglary after a Queensbury resident says he found the man inside his home.

On Monday, the resident says he was woken up by strange noises on the first floor of his Beacon Hollow Way home around 8 a.m. When he got up to investigate what was causing the noise, he says he found Gary Wells, Jr., 21, inside the home.

According to officials, the homeowner asked Wells why he was in the home, and when Wells could not offer an explanation, he allegedly left the house and drove off in a hurry.

Police say the homeowner did not immediately report the incident until he saw a newspaper article that described a similar break-in involving Wells.
