Low pressure will quickly develop and move south of the New England coast through Wednesday night as colder air arrives to produce a moderate to heavy snow storm for much of the region.  Snow will develop quickly Wednesday morning a fall heavily at times through the afternoon and evening before tapering off and ending before daybreak on Thursday.  Expect difficult travel conditions with snow packed roads and low visibility through the duration of this storm.  Click Here for the CBS6 Weather Forecast Page

Date changed for Wellington Hotel implosion

ALBANY - The planned implosion of the old Wellington Hotel in downtown Albany has been pushed back.

The implosion on State Street was originally scheduled for Thursday morning but the Columbia Development Companies now say it will happen on Saturday morning August 23.

The development company said they decided to change the date so that more national experts can be on site.

Albany Police have announced the following road closures and parking restrictions:

Road Closures:
August 21, 2014 7AM - approximately 1PM
The following roadways will be closed to all vehicular traffic:
Howard Street between Lodge Street and Eagle Street
Lodge Street between Beaver Street and State Street
Wendell Street between Beaver Street and Howard Street
August 21, 2014 9:30AM - approximately 1PM
Eagle Street between Madison Avenue and Pine Street
State Street between Eagle Street and Pearl Street
State Street between S. Swan Street and Eagle Street
Park Street between Lancaster Street and State Street
Lodge Street between Pine Street and State Street
Norton Street between Green Street and S. Pearl Street
Beaver Street between Wendell Street and Green Street
Hudson Avenue between Green Street and S. Pearl Street
Howard Street between Lodge Street and S. Pearl Street
Market Street between S. Pearl Street and Eagle Street
Grand Street between Phillip Street and Market Street

Additionally, pedestrians will not be allowed within the road closures between 9:30 a.m. and approximately 1 p.m.
