Man sentenced to prison for assaulting girlfriend

SCHENECTADY - The man found guilty of breaking into his ex girlfriend's apartment, assaulting her, and destroying the contents of her apartment, has been sentenced to prison.

Isaiah Curry was sentenced to 12 years in prison after being found guilty back in May of 2014.

Police say back in September 19, 2013, Curry assaulted his ex-girlfriend in Yates Village in the City of Schenectady during a dispute over a cell phone.  Curry slammed his ex-girlfriend into a metal screen door, punched and kicked her, injuring her ankle.

Curry then continued to assault her, and destroyed food and other items in the apartment.

The attack was also witnessed by the victim's one year old daughter.

Officials say When Curry committed these crimes, he was on life-time parole for his role as an accomplice in the murder of a pizza delivery man, Hassan Noorzai that occurred back in November of 2000, when Curry was 15 years old.
