TROY -- The City of Troy is getting some extra money to help fight crime.

Senators Schumer and Gillibrand announced on Tuesday that nearly $33,000 in federal money will fund anti-crime initiatives in the city. The funds will help with overtime pay and police visibility as well as help investigators.

Troy has recently experienced a string of violent crimes, including deadly stabbings and suspicious fires.
