Snow and Gusty Wind Today - Poor Travel Conditions Expected

A Nor'easter  is expected to impact the region today, but the impact around the Capital Region looks to be on the lighter side, as the storm takes a more Easterly track. Snowfall of varying intensity is expected through this afternoon and evening.  A gusty NNW wind from 15-20 mph at times will cause blowing and drifting of the very dry snow creating poor visibility and hazardous travel conditions at times through late tonight. General Storm accumulations in the Capital Region of 2-6" are expected, with higher amounts across western New England.

Police looking for suspect in Colonie stabbing

UPDATE: COLONIE - Police have arrested a man they believe is connected to a stabbing in Colonie on Monday..

The suspect was arrested Wednesday morning on a parole violation at around 8:00 a.m.

Police have not released the man's name, however they tell CBS6 that the suspect is the only person being investigated at this time.

COLONIE -- Colonie Police are looking for a suspect in an alleged stabbing of a fifty year old woman on Monday.

Police say they found the woman lying in the wooded area just off of Watervliet Shaker Rd after responding to a call for help. The woman was transported by EMS to Albany Medical Center in stable condition.  Police say her injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

Police describe the suspect as a white male who is approximately 30 years old.  According to police he was wearing tan pants and a blue or green colored shirt. 

Police are asking anyone who was traveling around that area between 5:30 p.m. to 5:53 p.m. and saw the victim or a possible suspect to call the Investigations office at 783-2754.
