Albany unveils new registry of historic buildings

ALBANY -- There is a lot of history in Albany, and now there's a new registry of historic buildings to prove it.

The Historic Albany Foundation spent the last year surveying the city and cataloged more than a thousand buildings that predate the Civil War. More than 150 of those have never before been included on any historic register.

The foundation started the program to stop older homes from being demolished.

The list of buildings can be found on the foundation's website, http://www.historic-albany.org/buildinginventory.html. There, you can also fill out a form if you think there are any buildings that should be added.
