4 arrested, charged with trashing gazebo

EAST GREENBUSH -- Four people were arrested after police say they trashed a gazebo at Hampton Lake Park.

Neighbors alerted police to the scene at about 11 p.m. on Wednesday night. The neighbor allegedly saw the group breaking boards of the structure, which had been put up as an Eagle Scout project by a local young man.

Officials say the four suspects were located shortly after on the playground of Red Mill School and taken into custody. James Couse, 21; Lucas Lapins, 19; Tyler McKiernan, 19; and Austin Wagar, 18, all face charges of criminal mischief, conspiracy, trespassing and unlawful possession of alcohol.
