Moderate to Heavy Snow @ Times to Continue Through the Evening

Narrow bands of moderate to heavy snow continue to evolve across the region in response to the storm developing to our south.  Expect periods of 1" to occasionally 2" per hour snowfall rates through 8-10pm with snowfall becoming lighter and more intermittent through the pre-dawn hours on Thursday. Poor to difficult travel conditions in low visibility and snow packed roads will persist well into the night.  Click Here for the CBS6 Weather Forecast Page

Traffic advisory: Patroon Island Bridge

Officials are asking drivers to steer clear of the Patroon Island Bridge on weekends throughout July.

The New York State Department of Transportation says lanes will be closed on the bridge between Rensselaer and Albany Counties and motorists should avoid the area or expect lengthy traffic delays. Closures will being Friday, July 11 at 8 p.m. and continue until Monday, July 14, at 5:30 a.m. Work is also scheduled for the weekends of July 18-21 and July 25-28.

Drivers can use the Dunn Memorial Bridge or the Troy-Menands Bridge in order to avoid the area.
