Peter Young Foundation COO facing charges
SCHENECTADY -- The COO of subsidiaries of the Peter Young Foundation was in court on Wednesday, facing a number of charges.
Jacquelyn Gentile, 57, has been charged with grand larceny, offering false information for filing, and falsifying business records. Officials say she misappropriated funds within the agency, but not for personal use.
They say the alleged misappropriation happened between January 2004 and October 2009.
Gentile is also accused of falsifying business records by completing false time sheets for former New York State Senator William Boyland, Sr. Boyland was on the records as a full-time employee, but officials claim documents filed in court show he had what amounted to a no-show job.
If convicted, Gentile could face more than 25 years behind bars. She maintains her innocence.
The Peter Young Foundation has come under legal fire in the past after Dennis Bassat was accused of stealing at least $200,000 from a not-for-profit drug treatment program run by the Peter Young Foundation.
