Three teens sentenced in Bow Tie assault
SCHENECTADY -- Three of the four teens who pleaded guilty to assaulting a man at the Bow Tie Cinema last year were given probation and youthful offender status Friday afternoon. They were originally charged as adults and faced several years in prison.
The teens admitted they assaulted a man who asked them to be quiet after making noise and running in the theater.
A judge sentenced them to up to one year in jail and five years of probation. All received credit for time served.
A fourth teen who pleaded guilty will be sentenced later this month.
Prior newscasts and online stories from CBS 6 identified the teenagers. It is the policy of CBS 6 to only identify individuals charged as adults. Their names and faces will not be used in stories after they were granted youthful offender status.
