Student found dead at upstate NY fraternity house

GENESEO, N.Y. (AP) -- Authorities are investigating the death of a student whose body was found in an upstate college fraternity house.

They tell local media outlets that fellow fraternity members initially thought 20-year-old Alex Davis was sleeping when he was found Sunday on a couch at the Phi Sigma Xi house off the State University of New York at Geneseo campus.

Investigators say there were no signs of injury and the cause of death will be determined after an autopsy.

The university says Davis was a sophomore biochemistry major and lacrosse player from Victor. He was a member of the fraternity who lived in a dormitory on campus.

SUNY Geneseo is in Livingston County, 27 miles from Rochester.
