Couple accused of stealing from graves

BALLSTON SPA -- A Ballston Spa couple is accused of stealing from a cemetery on Mother's Day.

Travis Lapell and Taiya Armer were both charged with petit larceny. Police say a man witnessed the pair take flowers from his wife's grave, which he he placed yesterday for Mother's Day. The same man also says he saw them stealing more flowers from another grave and load them into a pickup truck.

The man reportedly followed the couple home and called police. Police say more charges may come later in the case and ask anyone who had items taken from a grave in the Village Cemetery to contact them at (518) 885-5033.
