2014 Mother of the year crowned at Tulip Festival

Marcia Anderson of Wynantskill is the Albany Tulip Festival's mother of the year for 2014. Anderson has raised three children of her own in addition to six children she adopted as her own and many more she has cared for as a foster mother. "I just think I'm incredibly blessed by God," Anderson told reporters. "My whole family is a huge blessing to me."

Anderso was one of five finalists selected from dozens of nominations.

"I guess it was a little surprising since there are a lot of wonderful mothers out there," Anderson said when asked how it feels to be designated Mother Of The Year. "I'm excited because this is what I do full time. This is my job and this is what I love. It was my dream since I was little to have a big family and this is my dream come true."
