Dance marathoners recognized by NYS Senate
ALBANY -- Students from South Glens Falls High School were honored by the New York State Senate on Monday.
Senator Kathy Marchione recognized the group, which raised more than $580,000 during its annual dance marathon earlier this year. Students said that the entire community can be proud of the honor.
"It's a huge community event so everyone does their part, everyone plays a huge role in making this dance work, and it's amazing how all the students work together. All the faculty works together and the community works together to make this thing happen," said student Pat Fish.
The school has been raising money though its dance marathon for the last 36 years. This year's record-setting amount is going to dozens of local charities.
