UPDATE: Police locate missing woman suffering from dementia

UPDATE: Officials say they have located Wilma Trotter, who has been missing for the last week.

Trotter was reported missing last Friday. Authorities say they found her under some thick vegetation on the side of a hill near Shonowee and Washington Avenues. They say she had made the shelter from dead brush and did not leave, eat or drink during the past week.

Trotter told police she had gone to the park to get some solitude and rest and eventually became too weak to move under her own power.

Schenectady Police say Detectives Eric Peters and Paul Steele located Trotter due to their keen observation skills. Trotter continually referred to Detective Peters as her "cutie pie hero" and thanks the officers for locating her.
