Man leaves $1,000 tip to help with dog's surgery

NEW JERSEY (CNN Newsource) -- Good people, not to mention good tippers, do exist.

A New Jersey bartender knows that for sure after a customer left her a $1,000 tip to help with her dog's surgery. Christina Summitt says she was chatting with a couple last Saturday night about dogs when the man asked her if she had any of her own. She revealed her dog tucker had just had emergency surgery hours earlier after swallowing a plastic ball.

The man left her a $1,000 tip to help foot the estimated $2,700 bill for surgery.

The hotel manager at the Holiday Inn where Summitt works says she tracked down the customer and verified the tip was legit -- but the man who gave it says he wants to remain anonymous.
