More charges for National Guard recruiter accused of rape

GLENS FALLS -- A National Guard recruiter from Hudson Falls is now facing weapons charges, in addition to an earlier rape charge.

Robert Haas, 35, was initially charged with rape last week after a victim disclosed the assault to a friend. At his arraignment for rape and criminal obstruction of breathing charges stemming from that alleged incident, Haas admitted to having a gun locker in Glens Falls with weapons inside.

According to authorities, Haas does not have a permit to own a firearm in New York State. He faces four separate weapons charges for possession of an MP-15, a pistol, brass knuckles and a stun gun.

Investigators also say more victims have come forward in their investigation into the alleged rape. They say Washington County will prosecute three cases in this area. There are also other victims from at least four different states.
