Civil rights case dropped against US Dept of Ed.
SCHENECTADY - Schenectady City School Superintendent, Larry Spring, has learned that the complaint he filed with the US Department of Education Office of Civil Rights last year has been dismissed.
Spring, and other superintendents, say that their districts are being discriminated against when it comes to state funding.
The Office of Civil Rights says that because the Schenectady School District does not receive financial assistance from the department it cannot investigate.
Spring now says that this wasn't his only option and he'll now being filing a complaint with the United States Department of Justice.
