Fishing season kicks off in Capital Region

ALBANY -- On Monday, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation stocked trout in Rensselaer Lake at Albany's Six Mile Waterworks.

The location is off Fuller road between Washington and Central Avenues in Albany. The event is part of Governor Cuomo's New York Open for Fishing and Hunting Initiative.

DEC staff were on hand to offer advice and assist participants in learning how to fish. Nearly 1,600 catchable size rainbow trout were put in the water to kick off the event.
