Trial continues for teen accused of killing dad

TROY --The defense attorney for a Rensselaer County teen, accused of shooting her father, told a judge Monday that his client will take the stand on Tuesday. He said that Trinity Copeland will be the only witness in her own defense.
On Monday, the prosecution wrapped up its case with more of Copeland's Grand Jury testimony.
In that testimony, Copeland said her father was upset with her over money she stole and said he would shoot her if she didn't shoot him.
But the prosecutor asked Copeland why, once she had the gun and was standing over her father, she still shot him. He also asked why, when she had the chance to leave the room, she didn't call someone for help. Copeland said she was terrified he would still kill her.
Copeland could have started testimony Monday but her attorney asked it be pushed to Tuesday. He didn't want to get halfway through, then have to stop. The judge said that was fair.
