Albany Police ID some teens in brawl video

ALBANY -- Police said Friday they identified some of the teens captured on a cell phone video of a fight on Henry Johnson Blvd. The large group began fighting during rush hour Monday.

It's a 40-second video that looks scary, if you will. The video shows kids, we know they're kids we've already identified some of the kids in the video and are working with their parents to see what's going on so an incident like that doesn't happen again, said Ofc. Steve Smith with the Albany Police Department.

On Thursday, police were called to reports of another large fight at the corner of Quail St. and First St. Police said the group dispersed as they arrived.

The supposed fight had already been broken up and the group had dispersed. There were no reported injuries and nobody made complaints to the police and the officers cleared, said Smith.

Residents in the area of Thursdays fight declined to speak on-camera with CBS 6 Friday. Some said the incident wasnt out of the ordinary.

We see fights from time to time, said Smith. Kids are going to fight. The thing we're trying to do is end it before it happens. Most of the fights are over some nonsense and were trying to have other places where these kids can go.
