Parents allow internet to name their baby

KELOWNA, B.C. -- A Canadian couple took a risky approach and allowed the internet to name their baby daughter.

The father, Stephen, created a website, and asked the internet for help selecting a name. Aware of the potential for internet trolls to destroy his child's future, Stephen added one caveat - the parents would have the right to overrule anything too crazy.

After the votes were tallied, the baby, born on April 7 at 3:42 a.m., was named Amelia Savannah Joy McLaughlin. A Canadian media outlet reports that it was, in fact, the second most popular option. They say the first place name was Cthulhu All-Spark.
