Woman charged for falsely reporting abduction

EAST GREENBUSH - East Greenbush Police say a woman was charged after they say she made up a story about being abducted to cover up why she was not home.

Police say 42 year-old Denita Yarbrough was reported missing by her boyfriend after she failed to return home around 6:00 p.m. Friday

When she finally contacted him at 3:00 Saturday morning, she claimed she was abducted by two men and forced to drive to Troy.

Troy Police say details about the abduction confirm that she made up the story.

Yarbrough was charged with one count of falsely reporting an incident.
