High speed rail forum held in Albany

ALBANY -- The New York State Department of Transportation held a public hearing on the possibility of bringing high speed rail service to the Capital Region.
Tuesday night's meeting was the first of several forums where the DOT explained plans for improved passenger and freight rail service along the empire corridor.  The proposed high speed rail would speed up the ride between New York City and Niagara Falls.
The DOT said that it will bring jobs, tourism, and a cleaner environment to New York State.
