Moderate to Heavy Snow @ Times to Continue Through the Evening

Narrow bands of moderate to heavy snow continue to evolve across the region in response to the storm developing to our south.  Expect periods of 1" to occasionally 2" per hour snowfall rates through 8-10pm with snowfall becoming lighter and more intermittent through the pre-dawn hours on Thursday. Poor to difficult travel conditions in low visibility and snow packed roads will persist well into the night.  Click Here for the CBS6 Weather Forecast Page

VT police search for man who tried to abduct girl

UPDATE: Police say a man says he may be the suspect wanted in a reported abduction attempt.

The New Haven, Vermont, Police CHief says a man met with him after reading about the incident in an article. He says the whole thing is a misunderstanding.

According to authorities, the man lives near the intersection and remembers the girls, but did not try to abduct them. The man claims he had lost a bungee cord off his truck and simply stopped to pick it up. He says he heard the girls scream and run off.
FAIR HAVEN, Vt. (AP) -- Vermont police are looking for a man who tried to abduct a girl in Fair Haven.

Police say two girls were standing at an intersection Sunday afternoon when a blue pickup truck stopped in front of them. The girls said a man got out and grabbed one of them by her clothing. The girl was able to break free, and both girls ran to a neighbor's home.

The suspect is described as being in his 60s, with a medium build, scruffy face, gray hair and glasses. He was wearing a plaid shirt.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has further information is asked to call Fair Haven police.
