Mayfield man arrested for driving snowmobile drunk

MAYFIELD - State Police in Mayfield charged a man with misdemeanor DWI after operating his snowmobile.

Police say that 30-year-old Kyle Bonfey approached troopers while they were operating a traffic stop at the intersection of Route 30 and Second St.  It was then that Bonfey allegedly asked them if he could ride his snowmobile around the vehicles.

According to police they could smell an alcoholic odor coming from him as he talked.  Troopers then conducted standard field sobriety tests to which he failed.

Bonfey was then transported to the police station where police say he was found to have a BAC level of .17 percent.  He was released on tickets and is expected to appear in Mayfield town court at a future date.
