Carmine's shutting doors for good

ALBANY -- A popular downtown Albany restaurant will not be reopening after it was forced to close last week because of unpaid taxes.

Carmine's owner, Carmine Sprio, sent an email to employees saying that he saw no possible way to reopen. Spiro wouldn't say exactly how much he owes, but told the employees he was locked out of the restaurant, and his bank account had been frozen.

Sprio told employees he would "find a job and pay everyone's pay check as soon as possible."
