MECHANICVILLE -- According to the school's webiste, the Mechanicville junior and senior high school building was in shelter-in-place on Wednesday afternoon.

Shortly before 2 p.m., the school released the following statement:

At approximately 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26, a non-specific threat was found to be written in the High School girls room. The Saratoga County Sheriffs Department was notified immediately resulting in the recommendation to keep students sheltered in their classrooms as the issue was addressed and the sheriffs department conducted an investigation. As a precautionary measure, the Saratoga County Sheriffs K-9 Unit was brought in as an added layer of safety to all students and staff, and upon clearance from law enforcement, students will resume a modified schedule to accommodate the delay.

The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office confirms they had units on the scene. Under the shelter-in-place procedure, no one was allowed in or out of the building.
