Police: man charged after high speed chase on Thruway

COEYMANS - State Police arrested a Yonkers man after being caught traveling over twice the speed limit on the Thruway Friday night.

Police say Pedro Ramirez-Cuebas III, 21, refused to pull over after allegedly traveling at 144MPH in a 65 MPH zone, then led police on a high speed chase weaving in and out of traffic.

Ramirez-Cuebas was forced to stop when he reached the toll plaza at Exit 24.  He was arrested without incident.

He has been charged with reckless endangerment, fleeing a police officer, and possession of marihuana.

Ramirez-Cuebas was arraigned and sent to the Albany County Jail without bail.
