Snow and Gusty Wind Today - Poor Travel Conditions Expected

A Nor'easter  is expected to impact the region today, but the impact around the Capital Region looks to be on the lighter side, as the storm takes a more Easterly track. Snowfall of varying intensity is expected through this afternoon and evening.  A gusty NNW wind from 15-20 mph at times will cause blowing and drifting of the very dry snow creating poor visibility and hazardous travel conditions at times through late tonight. General Storm accumulations in the Capital Region of 2-6" are expected, with higher amounts across western New England.

Sentencing for man authorities say killed infant child

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- The aunt of a three month old boy killed by a man upset over a video game says the defendant "just snapped" right before he killed him.

Stephanie Defoe says her infant nephew's killer, 30 year-old Kevin King, should have received a 25 years to life sentence for causing the death to the baby. Instead King received 20 years as part of a plea deal he cut with the Washington County district attorney's office.

"He should have felt sorry before he actually laid a hand on that child," Defoe said Friday. "It is an infant child that can't even defend himself."

On his own behalf  Mr. King read a prepared statement before he was sentenced. King took full responsibility and apologized to both the infants family and his own. Despite a DNA test coming back negative, King said  he always treated and loved the infant like his own.

"If I could I would do anything to undo what I have done," King said in court. "But I can't I'm only human."
