New York State Military Museum celebrates 50 years of G.I. Joe

Saratoga Springs - The New York State Military Museum celebrated 50 years of G.I. Joe on Saturday by showing off a local action figure collection.

The collection is from Tearle Ashby from Ballston Spa who possesses over 1,000 action figures including one modeled after Tom Hanks.

The collection display was set up at 11am on Saturday.  This was followed by Ashby himself speaking to visitors of the display.

The first G.I. figures were sold in 1964.
