Dogs seized in Durham await new homes

DURHAM -- Dogs seized from two homes in Durham are not in their new homes yet, but will soon be on their way.

The Columbia-Greene Humane Society is being flooded with calls for people wanting to take one or more of the dogs in. The canines were seized from the two homes after investigators say they found them in filthy conditions.

Officials at the Humane Society say they have received about 400 applications for the dogs, many of which are pending, though none of the dogs have gone to their new homes. They say that at this point, they believe they will have homes for all of the animals involved.
