POTENTIAL WINTER STORM WEDNESDAY INTO THANKGIVING

There remains considerable uncertainty in the track and intensity of an anticipated coastal storm from Wednesday afternoon through early Thanksgiving morning, but confidence is increasing for a storm to bring accumulating snow to much of the region which would cause travel difficulty.  Details on amounts and timing will become more clear over the next twelve to twenty four hours.  Keep up to date on the forecast.

Albany Mayor announces proposed new fire chief

ALBANY -- Mayor Kathy Sheehan announced the appointment of a new Fire Chief on Monday.

Warren W. Abrial was named as the Chief of the Albany Department of Fire and Emergency Services. Abrial, a 42-year veteran of the force was appointed to the post of Executive Deputy Chief in 2008.

Abriel will be sworn in following approval by the Albany Common Council.
