Police: Newburyport couple had kids on drug deal

GROVELAND, Mass. (AP) -- Groveland police have arrested a Newburyport couple they say sold drugs out of their minivan with four children in the back.

Police say 37-year-old Paul Robitaille and 31-year-old Jamie Robitaille were arrested Saturday after selling 120 prescription pills to an undercover officer conducting a sting.

Police say their three children ages 6 to 14, as well as their 11-year-old nephew, were in the minivan with them.

Both were released Monday after pleading not guilty to drug possession and conspiracy laws. The Newburyport Daily News reports that they face a 60-day detention if they get into more legal trouble while their cases are pending.

Police say Paul Robitaille told investigators that he and his wife were having financial problems and needed to earn some extra money.
