Schenectady schools hold spelling bee

SCHENECTADY -- You could cut the T-E-N-S-I-O-N with a knife at the Schenectady High School auditorium on Wednesday.

Three dozen students in grades 3 to 6 competed in the Schenectady City School District spelling bee. Twelve middle school students will compete on Thursday morning as well.

All 48 students have something to be proud of, each got to the district competition by winning their school titles. The top three spellers from each group stand to get trophies and move on to the regional spelling be, held at Proctors.
